Born in the 1960’s, Marmonil began with our grandfather George Abdalla’s vision to take the marvels found in ancient quarries and introduce them to the world. Our family grew up with this respect to what our Earth had to offer, and the appreciation of these perfectly ,imperfect wonders is what fuels our persistence to hone the intricacies of the craft.

Combining the Italian word for marble ‘marmo’ with the Arabic word for the Nile ‘Nil’, Marmonil marries two beautifully rich heritages together which house the finest natural and architectural wonders of the world.

At Marmonil we house some of the biggest and oldest quarries in the world, the same sites that were used by the pharaohs namely our Aswan quarries.
